Simplistic video about minimalist shoes

Have you ever noticed that videos that promote minimalism are sometimes a bit simplistic? It doesn't discredit the scientific arguments surrounding the running shoe debate in any way, but I'm still slightly irritated to see the lack of rigor in some videos.

Here is a great example:

Following the viewing, one can wonder if the end justifies the means. Is it adequate to promote a running technique or a shoe philosophy without making valid arguments, just with slightly questionable analogies?
