Souvenir video of the DMCB and feedback on the poll

This is the last time I will talk about it this year, but two weeks ago the Côte-de-Beaupré Half-Marathon was held. For those who could not be present, here is a little video that will allow you to experience it for a few moments:

Not bad is not it?

Now I'm going to present you some statistics that will show you what makes organizing interesting and sometimes… difficult.

Here are some interesting statistics from the survey:

31% of respondents answered that they would have preferred a healthier lunch

41% of respondents answered that it was good or so good that they will tell other runners about it.

We are faced with a dilemma here. Personally, I found this lunch to be a distinctive element of the DMCB. We will certainly have to see to at least offering healthier alternatives for next year.

88% thought the course was good or beautiful.

Only 5% would have preferred an easier route

This is proof that there are still people looking for beautiful landscapes or courses that give a certain challenge. The ideal would be to improve the course to avoid having to make 2 round trips for the half marathon.

51% of respondents find it a good idea to make running greener.

6% said it was good, but more needs to be done

5% said it bothers them

Obviously, this race was not perfect from an environmental point of view. There will have to be improvements in some areas, but I think that trying to reduce the amount of waste is already a good step forward.

99% of participants would advise a friend to register for DMCB 2013

No need to tell you that we are extremely proud to achieve this level of satisfaction!

4% of participants say they have used the hydrapour system and appreciated it

2% of participants say they have used the system and did not appreciate

22% know what it is and don't find this system useful

Also, several people indicated that they had not seen the system. Yet he was there!

Much to my dismay, I would like to apologize to the participating children. We had prepared little chocolate medals, but I forgot to give them away. Don't be afraid that next year, they will be present and that there will be a person responsible for the medals for the children! Also, I have several ideas for improvements for next year. Don't hesitate to send us your suggestions!

- Improvement of the finish area

- Maybe do the children's race before the adults race

- Separate the start of the 5km and the 10km to aim for a more grouped finish

- Improved positioning of the 'stage' so runners and spectators can hear well

- Have more t-shirts printed!

- Do not leave the glasses of water inside the gym, but rather bring them near the finish

- Improve signage on arrival (toilets, water, lunch, etc.)

There is also a thought to be had on the course which may become a bit narrow if the number of runners increases….

In summary, the Côte-de-Beaupré Half-Marathon ends on a positive note and I can't wait for the 2013 edition!
