Over the past few years I have tried to share my best winter running tips and advice. Indeed, winter can be a great season for running with magnificent landscapes and a sense of duty accomplished after running in the snow. To see old articles on this subject, here are the links:

However, none of these tips are as important as the one I'm going to give you today: be as visible as possible.
Indeed, whether you have a little frostbite, fall and injure your ankle, none of it is as bad as getting hit by a car.
In my opinion, the minimum for running in winter, at night, is to have reflective clothing and a light color. If you don't have one, you don't need to buy yourself one new Kit. You can just add 2 very affordable and very useful pieces of equipment:
- A construction site safety bib. This large bib reflects the light that the motorist will project towards you. In snowy and windy conditions, I find this to be the runner's best asset to stay visible. You can get it at most sporting goods stores and often even dollar stores.
- A "Vizibl" type light. These lights are great for pointing out to motorists that you exist and that you are moving. In addition, as they flash, we understand that it is not a fixed light, but a person who is moving.
Obviously, all this does not exempt you from being careful. In winter, I always take it for granted that motorists don't see me, because if a person is the least bit distracted (cell phone, radio), it will be more difficult for them to stop in the winter.
And you, what do you use to be visible in winter?
