How to calculate the calories burned?

Probably this has happened to you before: you just ate a little too much and a little too much fat, you feel bloated, bloated and in poor physical condition. You say to yourself that it would be good to get moving! But how do you calculate the calories burned during your exercise?

Before going any further, I must tell you that calculating calories religiously is probably not the best way to lose weight. First of all, because it is difficult to properly count your energy intake and expenditure, but above all because restrictive diets often lead to failure.

If it's important for you to know how long you will need to run or walk to burn off all the calories ingested by eating an extra slice of sugar pie or a Big Mac, you will find different ways to calculate it below:

Calculate calories burned with a connected device

By using a watch that evaluates what you do for physical activity (Fitbit, Apple Watch, etc.), it is possible to estimate energy expenditure during an activity. The advantage of these devices is that they can be used throughout the day to give you an idea of how much physical activity you are actually doing in a day. In addition, unlike a simple pedometer that counts your steps, these machines are equipped with accelerometers that assess the intensity of your exercise.

Application

Apps like My Fitness Pal or Samsung Health can use the accelerometer that is contained in your smartphone to gauge how much physical activity you do during the day. You must, however, have your phone with you during your activity (!).

calculator

There are many energy expenditure calculators online and most of them use roughly the same data to calculate your calories burned. I found one really easy to use. All you have to do to use it will be to enter your weight in a box and the calculator will estimate your energy expenditure for different activities automatically. To use this calculator, click here.

If you're looking to burn off more calories, weight training and running are two great ways to accomplish this.

We have developed a range of environmentally friendly training equipment: Otherland.

  1. I use my Garmin Fortunes 35 watch and I combine it with my fitnesspal and I control my calories, carbohydrates, sodium and fat and it has led me to change my diet .. Result: weight loss since September 2018 of 19 pounds and without diet and past holiday food.

  2. What must be said is that all calories are not equal in the body .. some cause insulin (carbohydrates) to react which causes the body's "storage" mode to activate while d 'others will not give us this reaction as automatically, like proteins. Unfortunately, being in a calorie deficit is not the solution for everyone (I mean for everyone because many get there this way). You have to take care of your diet first. This is important to point out ... too many people try in vain to lose weight thinking that the body is just mathematical, but our human machine is much more complex 😉 (Click on the link in the text, the small text of the nutritionist is interesting and abounds in this sense!)
