Motivation down? The trap of overly rigid guidelines

Motivation down? The trap of overly rigid guidelines

You set yourself a goal of doing 3 workouts per week or moving for 30 minutes
per day? If you're like me, life will take over quickly and all the reasons
will be good for having missed the task: too busy, the weather was not good, I forgot,
etc. However, it is a more than realistic goal for my standard of living and my health
personal.

Why doesn't my motivation, so great when I "set a goal," remain? Because
I approach movement as a task on my to-do list. It's a little sad when you
think, right? Moving and doing sports should be a moment that brings me well-being, and not a mental burden.

What if we replaced goals with rewards?
Goals are great for improving and surpassing yourself. But your motivation shouldn't ultimately depend on your goal. For me, goal = pressure and reward = pleasure. Guess which one helps me get off the couch the most?

What are my rewards? Simple: anything that makes me happy. It's a beautiful sunny day and I want a slush ? I'll go get her by bike or on foot! It's summer and it's hot? I
I'll find a hike or a trail with a water point where I can take a dip
dive in to cool off.

And why wait until the end for the reward? What if my reward was to spend a
good time with people I like? I can combine my sports outing with
friends and take the opportunity to share beautiful moments with them.

In fact, there's nothing easier than staying motivated. When I move for fun, it's not
not the discipline that gets me outside. I challenge you: your next sports outings,
Do them to make yourself feel good physically and mentally, and nothing more. You will tell me
news!

A firm believer in logging miles for the reward—whether it's the view or the well-deserved snack. Moving is simply a grown-up way to keep playing outside, no matter the season or the activity. A firm believer that having fun is the best way to stay young, both in body and mind—long before anti-wrinkle creams or green smoothies.
