5 reasons to hold the Défi Entreprises Montréal at the St-Michel Environmental Complex

Last year was the first edition of the Défi Entreprises at the St-Michel Environmental Complex and we loved the experience. If we trust our survey, we are not the only ones, because the comments were very good! Here are the 5 reasons why we will continue to hold the event here this year:

1-Flat course

The flat course is perfect for beginners. As more than 90% of it is made of clay, the course allows running on a soft surface, which is preferred by many runners. In addition, as this is an off-street route, it improves the social acceptability of the event (a certain Grand Prix comes first as an example of an event whose social acceptability is questionable).

2. Accessibility

Close to major highways, getting to the Environmental St-Michel complex is relatively easy. Paid and free parking is available nearby. In addition, the site is accessible by 2 Metro exits (Iberville and Jarry) which are nearby. To find an easy way to move around the site, we suggest the application Moovit!

3. Site emeritus

Over the years, the site has won several awards for its design and ecological vocation:

  • Gold Medal - Environmentally Sustainable Projects Award
  • Merit - The International Award for Liveable Communities 2004
  • Special Mention - Communities in Bloom 2004
  • Espace Montréal at Expo 2010 - Shanghai

4. Magnificent gathering site

The layout of the start-finish site, very close to La Tohue, is magnificent. It is large enough for businesses to have some space. It is newly renovated and allows you to have a view of the park.

Continuously improving

Over the next 5 years, the city plans to develop different sections of the Park. Already this year a (superb) new section will be used, which will be a nice addition. To see the plan for 2023, click here.
